Darla's Gonna Have Her First Bacation Of A Lifetime!

Hi, it's me, Klu the Sailor Bear. Huh. Huh. I can't wait to be a Sailor Bear again.

I'm gonna be a Sailor Bear on the David B. That's Uncle Captain J's boat. And guess what? Today Big Mummy decided the 'citing-est thing ever! Darla is gonna come on our bacation of a lifetime too! She IS a duck, after all, and ducks like water, you know. Big Mummy decided she should come cuz she's the newest member of the family, and she hasn't had very many 'ventures yet. Here's a picture of me showing Darla and Wilb'rina the website for Northwest Navigation. Northwest Navigation is the name of Uncle Captain J's company.



Wilb'rina did some 'vestigatin' while I showed them the website, but Darla just said 'mwack.' I think Darla is really 'cited 'bout going on a bacation of a lifetime, cuz she hopped around and fell over a lot. That's what she does when she's really 'cited. But all she said was 'mwack.' I wish Darla would learn to say something more than just 'mwack.' I want her to say my name, Klu. I keep trying and trying all the time to teach her to say my name, Klu. Kuh-lu. It's not very hard. Kuh-lu. But all Darla says is 'mwack.'

Maybe when we go on our bacation of a lifetime on the David B, Darla will learn to say my name, Klu.

Doin' Some Advertising For Uncle Captain J

Hi, it's me, Klu, and guess what???? I'm gonna have another bacation of a lifetime! 'Member how me and Big Mummy and Auntie E had a bacation of a lifetime last year on Uncle Captain J's boat? Well, I'm gonna get to go again, and this time Wilb'rina and Uncle Kermit are gonna come too. I think that's the 'citing-est thing ever!!!

Uncle Captain J and Auntie Ch bought a boat called the David B. It was really old when they bought it, but they restored it (restoring is when you make an old thing all new again) and now they take people on bacations of a lifetime in Puget Sound and British Columbia and Alaska. You can buy a bacation of a lifetime on their website: Northwest Navigation. (Maybe you could even come on the same bacation of a lifetime as me! Then I could write 'bout you on my blog, Get A Klu, and post 'nonymous photos of you. 'Cept I don't know which trip we're going on yet.) Here's a picture of the David B. She's real pretty. (I called her 'she' cuz boats are always 'she,' even though she's got a man's name. Huh. Huh. I think that's funny.)

I can't wait till my second bacation of a lifetime! And I'm so glad Wilb'rina is gonna come this time, cuz she'll do lots of 'vestigatin'. Pigs are real curious, you know. And doin' some 'vestigatin' makes everything more 'citing.

I Can't Wait Till My Birthday!

Hi, it's me, Klu.

I just did some countin' and it's 22 days till my birthday. My birthday is April 1st. Huh. Huh. I was born on April Fool's Day. I think that's funny. But last year the other kids did something to me on my birthday that made me cry. They woke me up really early before Big Mummy woke up, and told me she had forgotten all 'bout my birthday. I went out and looked at my place at the breakfast table, and there weren't any presents for me. We ALWAYS get our birthday presents at breakfast. So I started to cry, cuz I thought Big Mummy had forgotten all 'bout my birthday. Just then Big Mummy came out with lots of presents, and the other kids said, "April Fool!" but I just kept cryin' cuz I was mad. Cuz I thought for a minute that Big Mummy forgot all 'bout my birthday. Big Mummy asked the other kids what they were doin', and they got kind of 'barrassed and did some 'splainin'. And she said that wasn't a very nice kind of April Fool's joke. They did some 'pologizin' and said they were sorry. I cried for a little longer, but then they all got out their presents for me, and I stopped cryin' so I could open my presents. And Big Mummy hadn't forgotten all 'bout my birthday after all.

I like birthdays a lot. I can't wait till my birthday comes. 22 days is a long time.

Darla Won't Say My Name

Hi, it's me, Klu. Klu. Kuh-lu. Klu the Frustrated Bear.

I've been trying all day to teach Darla to say my name: Klu. But all she'll say is 'mwack.' I kept saying to her, "Darla, my name is Klu. Kuh-lu." And she just kept sayin' 'mwack.' Here's a picture of me trying to teach Darla to say my name: Klu.



Then she got up in the middle of my trying to teach her to say my name, Klu, and did a headstand. And while she was doin' the headstand, she said, 'mwack.' Here's a picture of Darla doin' a headstand and me gettin' frustrated.



Big Mummy came in just then and asked me what we were doin'. I told her I was tryin' to teach Darla to say my name: Klu. And I told her I was a Frustrated Bear. Then I started to cry cuz I REALLY want Darla to say my name: Klu. But Big Mummy said that Darla wasn't big enough to say anything but 'mwack' yet. And she said we should just play and have fun, and one day Darla will be big enough to say my name: Klu.

I can't wait till Darla is big enough to say my name.

Darla's Nest

Hi, it's me, Klu.

This morning, me and Wilb'rina woke up on Big Mummy's pillow where we always sleep. We were just doin' some wakin' up and all, and then we noticed that Darla Duck (that's our new sister; her name is short for Darling Duck, cuz she's the darling-est baby duck ever) was missing. She wasn't sleepin' on Big Mummy's pillow where we always sleep. (Big Mummy's pillow is gettin' kind of crowded, cuz we keep 'doptin' so many kids.) We got kinda scared cuz we didn't know where Darla was. So me and Wilb'rina went to do some 'vestigatin'. And here's where we found her.



Huh. Huh. It was the darling-est thing I ever saw. Mr. Gumbles gave Auntie E some beer mugs that came in a box. The box was just like a nest. And ducks come from nests, you know. So Darla was doin' some sleepin' in the nest. Wilb'rina did some 'vestigatin' to see if Darla was awake or not. Here's a picture of Wilb'rina doin' some 'vestigatin' and Janna Ganna perched on top of the birdhouse Hannah G made for her.



Darla woke up and said 'mwack.' That's all she says so far. 'Mwack. Mwack.' I can't wait till she says my name: Klu. But she just says 'mwack.' That's what baby ducks say, you know.



I don't mind that Big Mummy's pillow is gettin' kind of crowded, cuz now there's so many kids to love: Blu and Roma and Bianca and Bruno and Janna Ganna and Wilb'rina and DD (that's what we call Darla Duck: DD).

Playin' School

Hi, it's me, Klu the Bear with the Big Brain. Huh. Huh. Huh. My Big Mummy said I'm really smart. Maybe I got a big brain. Bears have big brains, you know.

Me and Darla and Wilb'rina and Roma did some playin' today. We played school. Roma was the teacher, cuz she's got the even biggest brain. She knows lots of big words. Here's a picture of her playin' teacher. She was doin' some 'splainin' from a Richard Scarry book. I like Richard Scarry books a lot. Darla hadn't ever seen a Richard Scarry book before, cuz she's just a baby duck. It was kinda hard to tell if she liked it or not, cuz she can't talk yet. All she does is quack. Big Mummy says she'll start to do some talkin' when she's bigger, but I can't wait. I want to hear her say somethin' now. Wilb'rina wasn't very good at playin' school. We were s'pposed to be sittin' in a row, but she kept gettin' up to do some 'vestigatin'. Pigs are real curious, you know. I wonder if baby ducks are curious too.



It's kinda crazy around our house right now. Auntie E is doin' some spinnin' cuz of Mr. Gumbles, and Big Mummy is doin' spinnin' cuz of Uncle Kermit. I wish they'd settle down.
