More Stuff That Roma's Learnin'

Hi, it's me, Klu. But this isn't a post by me. This is a post by Roma. I miss Roma somethin' fierce. Here's the post she wrote. I'm glad she's doin' some postin', cuz sometimes I can't think of nothin' to do some bloggin' 'bout.

Love,
Klu the Bear

PS. I wish I could see a moose.

Dear Klu,

You know I like learning ‘bout stuff, and moose are really, really interesting. I’ve been learning lots about them in books and on the internet (my dad helps me use the mouse for the computer).

Here’ a picture of a baby moose. They are SO different than human babies.

Moose babies are called calves. They can stand up in one day (my mom told me I couldn’t stand up ‘til I was like 9 months old!) AND they can swim when they are two weeks old. Can you believe it?

Mama moose are very protective of their calves (that means they take really good care of their kids) and they will chase people if they get too close. Moose can run super duper fast even though they look kinda clumsy sometimes because their front legs are longer than their back legs! They can run as fast as a car -- up to 35 miles per hour. I can’t even ride my bike that fast (though Uncle Kerms can, for sure).

Calves stop drinking their mom’s milk after about six months, and they only stay with their mom until they are one year old. Then they go out into the forest on their own. Would you be scared to live in a forest if you were one year old, Klu? I know you’re a bear and all, but wouldn’t you be scared? That’s really young to try and be all grown up already.

I’m glad I don’t have to live in the forest all by myself. I like living with my Big Mummy and Papa. We are moving to a house in the forest soon, but I get to stay inside at night by the cosy fire. Maybe my mama and papa will let me roast marshmallows. Could you come and visit me, Klu and all the kids? We could roast marshmallows together, ‘kay?

Uncle Kerms's New Drum

Hi, um, it's me, Klu the Bear.

This is a post 'bout Uncle Kerms and his drum. My Big Mummy gave Uncle Kerms a drum for Balentine's Day. She said she knew it was a weird gift for Balentine's Day, but Uncle Kerms liked it a LOT.

Uncle Kerms let me try playin' his drum, and I 'scovered it's real fun to do some drummin'. But Uncle Kerms had to hold me up so I could reach the top of the drum. Then Uncle Kerms got tired of holdin' me up and he went away. But I still wanted to do some drummin' so I tried standin' on the tissue box. But I still wasn't tall enough to reach the top of the drum. I was feelin' really 'scouraged, but then Speedy had a great idea. He stood on the tissue box, and let me stand on his back. (Turtles have hard shells, you know, so it didn't hurt him.) Here's a picture of Speedy standin' on the tissue box, and me standin' on Speedy's back, doin' some drummin'.

The 'Citin'-est Thing Ever: Roma Wrote A Post For My Blog (Get A Klu)

Hi, um, it's me, Klu.

I'm feelin' 'cited cuz Roma wrote a post for my blog (Get A Klu)! She sent it to me in an email. Here's the email. I miss Roma something fierce.

Love,
Klu the Bear

PS. My Big Mummy and Uncle Kerms ate lunch last summer at the restaurant where the moose is standin'.

Um, here's Roma's post:

Hi, Klu.

It’s me. Roma. You keep askin’ me to write a blog for you, but I feel a little shy. You’re a famous bloggin’ bear and I don’t want your fans to be dis’pointed. Maybe if I write you about some of the things that are important in my life, you can tell your fans about them.

One thing that’s very important to me in my life here in Wyoming is moose. Do know what a moose is Klu? They are LOTS bigger than you or me or even our big mummies. They are sometimes shy like me, and they are vegetarian. That means they only eat plants. They don’t eat bears or muppets or kids, which makes me really glad.

I get to see moose a lot where I live. In the winter, they have to find lots of food, and it’s hard to find plants in the snow. The more snow there is, the more they come down from the mountainside to find plants in the town. That’s what happened with this little moose. Isn’t he cute? I feel bad for him that he’s so hungry he tried to get into the restaurant. I wonder where his mom is? She must be lookin’ for him.

So that’s a little about my life, Klu. Do you think your fans will like it?

Love, Roma

Sometimes Dars Drives Me CRAZY!

Hi, um, it's me, Klu the Bear.

Um, this post is 'bout how Dars sometimes is the best baby duck I ever met, and sometimes she drives me CRAZY. It's all cuz she likes water so much. Every time anyone turns on the sink or the shower or pours water into the top of the coffee maker, Dars starts doin' some hoppin' around. She's always jumpin' into the water and gettin' all soaked, then she hops around, doin' some shakin' and makin' water fly everywhere. Drives me CRAZY.

But when she's all wet, she's the cutest baby duck I ever met, so then I gotta stop bein' mad at her. Here's a picture of Dars when she's all wet and 'draggled. Isn't she the cutest baby duck you ever saw?

This is a short post cuz I gotta go help Uncle Kerms make dinner. I like doin' some cookin' with Uncle Kerms cuz he lets me cut things and stuff. My Big Mummy doesn't let me cut things cuz I might cut my paw or something.

The 'Citin'-est 'Struction Ever

Hi, um, it's me, Klu the Bear.

A few mornings ago, I heard some noises outside, so I opened the blinds before the sun was doin' any shinin'. And I saw the 'citin'-est thing EVER: a whole bunch of cement mixers were linin' up across the street where they've been doin' some 'struction. Here's a picture of me doin' some watchin' before the sun was doin' any shinin'.

Then when it started gettin' light out, they brought in the biggest crane EVER! Here's a photo of the biggest crane ever.

Then they made the cement go up a hose on the crane and come shootin' out at the end of the crane. They shot the cement to make the bottom of the new buildin'. Here's a picture of me watchin' them shoot the cement out the end of the crane. You can't really see where the cement is shootin' out, but it was really 'citin'.

I stayed at the window and did some watchin' most of the mornin' cuz it was so 'citin'. I like watchin' 'struction a lot. Maybe I'll drive a crane when I grow up. Or maybe a digger. I'd like to drive a digger a lot.

Love,
Klu the Bear

PS. I wrote an email to Hannah G tonight, cuz she's got 'monia. I told her to get feelin' better soon. I miss Hannah G something fierce. I don't get to see Hannah G much now, since Auntie E moved to Wyoming.

Feelin' Stressed 'Bout My Blog

Hi, it's me, Klu the Famous Bloggin' Bear,

I've been feelin' stressed 'bout my blog cuz I didn't write nothin' for more than a week. Sometimes it's hard to be a Famous Bloggin' Bear, cuz there's all those 'spectations that I'm gonna have lots of 'ventures to write 'bout. I don't think I had any 'ventures lately.

I was just tellin' Uncle Kerms that I was feelin' stressed 'bout my blog. He told me to turn around so he could rub my shoulders. Here's a picture of Uncle Kerms rubbin' my shoulders.

After Uncle Kerms got done rubbin' my shoulders, I felt a lot better, and I decided to write my blog 'bout feelin' stressed 'bout my blog. Then I decided I should put some new links on my blog, cuz I 'scovered there's other Famous Bloggin' Animals out there.

Here are some links to other Famous Bloggin' Animals. I'll put them in my sidebar too. I wish Roma would write a post on my blog sometime. I miss Roma something fierce. I 'vited her to write posts on my blog, but Auntie E and Uncle Gumbles don't have internet at their house yet, so Roma can only write a post if she goes along with Auntie E to work. Um, I almost forgot -- here's those links to other Famous Bloggin' Animals:

This one is 'about Phytheas, who is a bear on the move. Phytheas is from England. That's kinda close to Scotland, where I used to be from.

This one is 'bout a bear named Arthur who lives in London. He has 'ventures too, but they're different from my 'ventures. He does stuff like ride on buses. I never rode on a bus.

This blog is called The Unexpected Life of the Green Frog, and it's 'bout a green frog that goes lots of places. I think this green frog has had more 'ventures than me, but he doesn't do any 'splainin' 'bout his 'ventures. He just takes pictures.

Um, that's all. I don't feel stressed 'bout my blog now, cuz I wrote a post.

Um, I Forgot To Take Any Photos

Hi, it's me, Klu the Bear.

Snickers bars were buy one get one free at the grocery store this week. So I got two for the dollar that Uncle Kerms gave me for Christmas.

But I need to do some 'pologizin' to my fans, cuz when we ate our Snickers bars I forgot to take any pictures. You should have seen Wilbs when she opened the first bar. She's a pig, you know, and she could hardly wait. She did lots of snortin' and oinkin' till I gave her her piece. And sugar makes Darla hyper. She squawked and flapped and stood on her head. Then her tummy hurt later, and she waddled around, sayin' "mwack" in a sad voice. Speeds liked his piece so much he licked the wrapper clean.

I'm real glad Uncle Kerms gave me that dollar, but I sure wish Auntie E had 'membered to give me that 50 cents she promised me. Cuz then with my change from the dollar and her 50 cents, I could buy another Snickers bar and get one more free.

Love,
Klu the Bear

PS. I love Auntie E even though she forgot to give me that 50 cents she promised me. Maybe she can sent it in an envelope.
